Pardina lentils are not to be confused with your average lentils. A rare find in North America, we’re proud to carry these Spanish pardina lentils at Nuts.com. Their thin greenish-brown skin encases a yellow interior. Also known as “Spanish Brown,” pardina lentils have a distinct nutty flavor and retain their shape even after cooking. These qualities make them an excellent addition to lentil salads and dishes that need to be reheated. Try pardina lentils in a savory soup or kale salad!
How To Cook Pardina Lentils
Rinse your pardina lentils with fresh water before boiling. On the stovetop, add one cup of lentils to a large saucepan with 2.5 cups of water or stock. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer until the lentils are tender. The cook time should be approximately 30 minutes. Check for desired doneness and add salt to taste.
